Miss Laurie Jamieson

Voted Best Dance Instructor (Diamond Winner - Oshawa/Whitby) for 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023! Miss Laurie Jamieson was born and raised in Durham region where she started dancing at age 3. She competed around North America where she was awarded many solo and top title awards. At age 14 she started teaching, and now holds her associate and membership levels in several BATD dance forms and has her certificate in Dance Masters America (DMA). She recently completed her membership in Jazz through the BATD with a high honours score. She is currently studying as a founding member of the Acro Dance Adjudicators.
At age 11, Laurie was scouted by a talented agency and started working professionally in the film/tv (LOST, Hawaii 5-0. shaggy music video, multiple commercials), modelling (Bodywrappers, California Raisin swimwear, L'oreal, AnG and more) and performance (Tim McGraw backup dancer, Kennedy Centre's Nutcracker, Molson, Toronto Rock cheer, Diamond Head Theatre) industries.
She has studied under some of the finest teachers in the dance industry like Jim Hutchinson and Denise Wall (where she was asked to come on as a teacher at Denise Wall Dance Energy in Virginia). She has taught in Hawaii, Virginia (Virginia Ballet Academy), Rochester, NY and has been awarded with choreography awards all over NA. She has had students who have gone on to compete on SYTYCD (Travis Wall, Jamie Goodwin, Mark Kanemura). Many of her students are now working professionally in the industry all over the world.
Laurie believes in teaching strong, clean and safe technique, and hopes that each and every dancer walks out of her classroom with a smile on their face and a better knowledge for what it is to work and get results.

Miss Sarah Rorabeck
Director of Little Shakers, Competitive Instructor/Choreographer

Sarah Rorabeck has 17+ years of experience educating students ages 3 and up in dance. As a teacher who still works with recreational, adult, part-time and full-time competitive students, she is well versed in all genres, and specializes in Tap, Musical Theatre, Lyrical/Contemp and Jazz. Currently, Sarah works full-time choreographing award-winning competitive pieces, putting students through their BATD examinations and adjudicating at dance competitions all across Canada. She has been awarded the Reader's Choice award for Best Dance Instructor in Oshawa/Whitby several times.
Sarah Rorabeck is a graduate, with honours, of Sheridan’s prestigious Music Theatre Performance program, where she extensively studied dance, vocal and acting. She holds her Associate level Teacher’s Membership in the BATD in both tap and jazz, and is an accredited adjudicator through Judge Alliance’s PAA program. She is a founding member of the Acro Dance Adjudicators (ADA), where she became a certified Acro and Dance Adjudicator. She continues her training by studying the Radar Technique Modules, and attending dance teacher summits, classes and workshops. Sarah is also certified through the Canadian Red Cross with her Standard First-Aid and CPR.
Sarah is a member of the CAEA and has performed professionally in musicals like Beauty and the Beast, The Addams Family, Mary Poppins, Anne of Green Gables (& many more), around Canada, with some film and television work thrown in the mix. She’s even modelled for and been photographed by world-renowned dance-photographer, Jordan Matter (Dancers Among Us).
Sarah is very passionate about dance education, specifically teaching clean and safe technique and exploring performance styles within different genres to keep class exciting. She has won several ‘Best Choreography’ awards, specifically for her Tap and Musical Theatre work. She strongly believes dance teaches such incredible life lessons, and she is thrilled to be able to pass on her knowledge to today’s brave and passionate dancers.

Miss Kendra Gowdy
Recreational/Competitive Instructor, Dance Camp Director

Miss Kendra has been a part of the ChromeDC team since our very first class in 2015. Having studied under the tutelage of Miss Laurie and the Chrome faculty, Kendra is passionate about fun classes and clean and safe technique for all dancers. She is an associate member of the BATD, achieving incredibly high marks in her tap and modern associate exams. An accomplished competitive dancer for over 12 years, Kendra was chosen as ‘destined to succeed’ by the Dance Attack community in 2019 for being a well-rounded performer and technician. Kendra graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) in Kinesiology at Ontario Tech University in 2023 and loves passing on her knowledge to the students she works with. Throughout her time in school, she worked as a Student Athletic Trainer allowing her to work closely with athletes in both an on-field and in clinic setting. She is currently completing a Master’s of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. Her knowledge of the human body and athletes' needs takes her above and beyond in her teaching career. Miss Kendra is loved by all of the students and families at ChromeDC!

Miss Cori Gianotta
Advanced Tap Programme Instructor/Choreographer
Born in Toronto, Cori Giannotta began dancing at the age of two, training in multiple disciplines including Tap, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Jazz and Acro. She quickly fell in love with tap dancing, and has since become heavily involved in the Toronto tap dance scene as a producer, dancer, teacher and choreographer. Her dancing has taken her all over North America including BC, Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Washington DC, Los Angeles, and New York City. Highly sought after for her teaching and choreography, she has had the opportunity to teach at the Toronto Rhythm Initiative’s youth intensive, Performing Arts BC: Provincial Festival, Dance Masters of Canada, MOVE Dance Convention, and as Assistant Choreographer for the North American Tour of “EVIL DEAD the Musical”, just to name a few. Performing onstage, in front of an audience, has always been a passion for Cori. Her performing credits include: the 2014 Toronto Body Percussion Festival, the 2014 Eastern Canadian Tap Conference, Allison Toffan and Josh Grossman’s Big Band Tap Revue with the Toronto Jazz Orchestra, The Whole Shebang: Taken By Night, the Dance Ontario production: Dance Weekend ’16, Ryan Foley’s Escapade, the 2018 Dusk Dances Festival, Fall For Dance North’s: Perspective In Rhythm, and a featured artist for the 2019 Vegetarian Food Festival. She was also a featured dancer for the commissioned work of Johnathan Morin in the 2017 Toronto International Tap Dance Festival, produced by Toffan Rhythm Projects. But her greatest career highlight has been founding her tap dance company, Rhythm & Sound in 2015, alongside Johnathan Morin. The company has annual performances in Toronto, has been presented in Edmonton at the Feats Festival of Dance in 2017, and has been featured in several festival performances.

Ms Courtney Ogle

Courtney has been a part of the dance industry for over 30 years. Courtney is a graduate of the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts triple threat school, studying extensively in dance, drama, and vocal. She is a certified jazz and tap instructor under the A.D.A.P.T. syllabus, a module 1 certified acro instructor under the Acrobatic Arts syllabus, and a member of the Professional Adjudicators Alliance.
As a performer, Courtney has had the pleasure to train under many notable instructors and choreographers in the industry. Her choreography has received top accolades including overall titles, top scores, and choreography awards at both the regional and national competitive level for her unique style and creativity. Courtney is proud to have most recently received her 140th choreography award during the 2024 season. Courtney's work has been featured in Dance Teacher Magazine and many of her students have gone on to professional careers in the industry including television (Lost & Found; The Next Step), cruise lines (Norwegian; Caribbean), dance companies (The Radio City Rockettes Summer Intensive; Joffrey School of Ballet; Conteur), dance packs (Toronto Rock Cheerleaders; Raptors Dance Pak), and dance education (Ryerson; George Brown; Randolph; York).
Courtney is honoured to share her knowledge and passion for dance with the next generation as a devoted teacher, choreographer, and adjudicator. Courtney prides herself on continuing to develop her craft through workshops, seminars, and classes to push both her dancers and herself as an artist.

Ms Kelly Jones-Hart

Kelly has a passion for teaching dance to children of all ages and abilities. With a focus on developing strong technique Kelly also infuses her classes with joy and creativity. Students are encouraged to find an emotional connection with movement and to develop a love for dance as a form of self-expression.
Kelly began dancing at the age of three studying and competing in tap, jazz, ballet, Highland and contemporary dance. While studying dance at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) Kelly earned her Ballet teaching certification from the Royal Academy of Dance, an International training institution based in London. After graduating from the dance programme Kelly performed at the Royal Alexandra and Princess of Wales theatres in Toronto. She joined the Scottish Dance Company of Canada and performed across Ontario and in front of Edinburgh Castle, Scotland. In 2005 Kelly completed her Masters Degree in Dance at York University and presented her research paper, Applying Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences in Ballet Training at the World Dance Alliance conference in Toronto. Kelly’s students have been accepted to National Ballet, Royal Winnepeg Ballet and Quinte Ballet schools, and many former students have become certified dance teachers.

Miss Marie Kowdrysch
Acro/Tumbling Teacher
Ms Marie is a gymnastics and circus coach of a decade with a passion for acrobatics in both a recreational and competitive setting.
She has been a Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) coach from the Parent and tot level to provincial level for several years and has also worked with MAG recreationally. In her years coaching, she was the program lead of circus and acrobatic gymnastic programs, choreographer of aerial and floor routines, and taught trampoline and tumbling at a recreational and interclub level.
She has worked toward and maintains many certifications through WAG and Safe Sport training. As a former WAG and ACRO judge who has completed her Coach Evaluator Foundations and Competition 1 Training, she holds high standards in her practice teaching gymnastics, tumbling and acro, and focuses on drills and techniques that deliver results.
Marie will be an asset to our current technical training, and we so look forward to watching our acro students FLY under her tutelage. Please welcome Ms. Marie!

Miss Emily Butosi
Instructor
Miss Emily is thrilled to be part of Chrome Dance Centre's faculty this year! She has been dancing competitively for over 10 years under Miss Laurie, Miss Sarah, and the rest of the Chrome Faculty. Throughout all her years competing, Emily has been chosen for multiple scholarships, has won several titles, and was an integral member and leader of her team. Emily is a graduate student from All Saints Arts and Media program where she studied dance from grades 7 through 12. She has choreographed routines for her peers and classes at school and was Dance Captain of her school's musical. Miss Emily has experience in modelling and in 2018, she had the opportunity to model for two clothing brands in Toronto Kids Fashion Week.
Miss Emily's love of dance has allowed her to perform on stages in different countries. As a proud Five Star Dance Company member, she was able to travel to Mexico and perform in front of guests at the Barcelo Maya Rivera Resort. She has worked her way through the BATD Syllabus in various styles, and is proud to hold her Elementary standings in both Modern and Tap. She has been nominated for BATD scholarships several times, with top scores in her exams in all genres. Miss Emily can't wait to share her love and knowledge for dance with the students here at ChromeDC.
