Miss Laurie Jamieson
Director/Owner/Instructor/Choreographer
MBATD, ABATD, ADAPT, DMA

Voted Best Dance Instructor (Diamond Winner – Oshawa/Whitby) for five consecutive years, Miss Laurie Jamieson is proud to call the Durham Region her hometown. She began dancing at the age of three and quickly rose through the competitive ranks across North America, earning numerous top titles and solo awards along the way.
Laurie began teaching at just 14 years old and now holds both Associate and Membership certifications in several disciplines through the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD). She is also certified with Dance Masters of America (DMA), and recently earned a High Honours score while completing her Jazz Membership with the BATD. Laurie is currently a founding member of Acro Dance Adjudicators, furthering her commitment to safe and effective dance education.
At age 11, Laurie was scouted by a talent agency and launched a successful career in the professional entertainment industry. Her impressive resume includes appearances on LOST and Hawaii Five-0, a Shaggy music video, and numerous national commercials. Her modeling work includes campaigns for Bodywrappers, California Raisin Swimwear, L’Oréal, AnG, and more. She has graced the stage as a backup dancer for Tim McGraw, performed in The Nutcracker at the Kennedy Center, and appeared with Molson, Toronto Rock Cheerleaders, and Hawaii’s Diamond Head Theatre.
Laurie has trained under renowned industry leaders such as Jim Hutchinson and Denise Wall—who even invited her to join the faculty at Denise Wall’s Dance Energy in Virginia. Her teaching experience spans internationally, with credits in Hawaii, Virginia (Virginia Ballet Academy), and Rochester, NY. Her choreography has been recognized with awards throughout North America.
Laurie’s students have gone on to achieve incredible success, including appearances on So You Think You Can Dance (Travis Wall, Jamie Goodwin, Mark Kanemura), and many are now working professionally in the dance and performing arts industries around the world.
Known for her passion, precision, and positivity, Laurie is dedicated to teaching strong, clean, and safe technique. Her greatest hope is that every dancer leaves her class not only with a deeper understanding of their craft, but also with a smile on their face and a sense of accomplishment in their hearts.

Miss Sarah Rorabeck

Sarah Rorabeck has 17+ years of experience educating students ages 3 and up in dance. As a teacher who still works with recreational, adult, part-time and full-time competitive students, she is well versed in all genres, and specializes in Tap, Musical Theatre, Lyrical/Contemp and Jazz. Currently, Sarah works full-time choreographing award-winning competitive pieces, putting students through their BATD examinations and adjudicating at dance competitions all across Canada.  She has been awarded the Reader's Choice award for Best Dance Instructor in Oshawa/Whitby several times.
​Sarah Rorabeck is a graduate, with honours, of Sheridan’s prestigious Music Theatre Performance program, where she extensively studied dance, vocal and acting. She holds her Associate level Teacher’s Membership in the BATD in both tap and jazz, and is an accredited adjudicator through Judge Alliance’s PAA program. She is a founding member of the Acro Dance Adjudicators (ADA), where she became a certified Acro and Dance Adjudicator.  Sarah is also certified through the Canadian Red Cross with her Standard First-Aid and CPR.
Sarah is a member of the CAEA and has performed professionally in musicals like Beauty and the Beast, The Addams Family, Mary Poppins, Anne of Green Gables (& many more), around Canada, with some film and television work thrown in the mix. Sarah recently choreographed A Chorus Line at Whitby Courthouse Theatre. She’s even modelled for and  been photographed by world-renowned dance-photographer, Jordan Matter (Dancers Among Us). 
Sarah is very passionate about dance education, specifically teaching clean and safe technique and exploring performance styles within different genres to keep class exciting. She has won several ‘Best Choreography’ awards, specifically for her Tap and Musical Theatre work at competitions throughout Canada and is known for creating pieces that highlight individual dancer's strengths. She strongly believes dance teaches such incredible life lessons, and she is thrilled to be able to pass on her knowledge to today’s brave and passionate dancers.

Miss Kendra Gowdy
Recreational/Competitive Instructor, Dance Camp Director
ABATD, BHSc-Hons.
Miss Kendra has been a dedicated member of the ChromeDC family since our very first class in 2015. A lifelong student of dance, she trained under the mentorship of Miss Laurie and the Chrome faculty, developing a strong foundation in safe, effective technique and a passion for fun, engaging classes.
Kendra is an associate member of the BATD, having earned outstanding marks in both her tap and modern associate exams. As a competitive dancer for over 12 years, she was recognized by the Dance Attack community in 2019 as “Destined to Succeed” for her versatility, technical skill, and stage presence.
In addition to her dance training, Kendra holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) in Kinesiology from Ontario Tech University. During her studies, she worked as a Student Athletic Trainer, gaining hands-on experience supporting athletes both in the clinic and on the field. She is currently pursuing her Master’s of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto, bringing a deep understanding of anatomy, movement, and injury prevention into every class she teaches.
Kendra is known for her vast knowledge and genuine care for her students. She is a beloved part of the ChromeDC team, inspiring dancers of all levels to grow in both confidence and technique.

Miss Cori Gianotta
Advanced Tap Programme Instructor/Choreographer
Cori Giannotta was born and raised in Toronto and began dancing at the age of two. She trained extensively in a wide range of styles, including Tap, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Jazz, and Acro. From a young age, she discovered a deep love for tap dance—one that has grown into a vibrant career as a performer, choreographer, producer, and educator.
Cori is an active force in the Toronto tap dance community and has shared her passion across North America, with performances and teaching engagements in cities such as Vancouver, Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and New York City. Her unique voice and rhythmic artistry have made her a sought-after teacher and choreographer. She has taught for organizations and events including the Toronto Rhythm Initiative’s Youth Intensive, Performing Arts BC Provincial Festival, Dance Masters of Canada, MOVE Dance Convention, and served as Assistant Choreographer for the North American tour of Evil Dead: The Musical.
A passionate performer, Cori’s stage credits include the Toronto Body Percussion Festival, Eastern Canadian Tap Conference, Dance Ontario’s DanceWeekend, Dusk Dances Festival, Fall for Dance North’s Perspective in Rhythm, and performances with the Toronto Jazz Orchestra in Big Band Tap Revue. She has also been featured in works by acclaimed choreographers such as Johnathan Morin and Ryan Foley.
One of her proudest achievements is co-founding Rhythm & Sound in 2015 with Johnathan Morin—a Toronto-based tap dance company dedicated to rhythm, innovation, and community. The company has produced annual performances in Toronto and has been featured in numerous festivals, including the Feats Festival of Dance in Edmonton.
Cori continues to inspire students of all levels with her creativity, precision, and passion for tap dance, helping the next generation of dancers find their rhythm.

Ms Courtney Ogle
Instructor/Choreographer
Courtney has been a part of the dance industry for over 30 years.  As a dance instructor and choreographer, Courtney specializes in lyrical, contemporary, jazz, tap, open, song and dance, and musical theatre.  Courtney is a graduate of the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts triple threat school, studying extensively in dance, drama, and vocal.  She is a certified jazz and tap instructor under the A.D.A.P.T. syllabus, a module 1 certified acro instructor under the Acrobatic Arts syllabus, and a member of the Professional Adjudicators Alliance.
As a performer, Courtney has had the pleasure to train under many notable instructors and choreographers in the industry.  Some of Courtney's performance credits include:  Thoroughly Modern Millie:  Toronto, ON; Anne of Green Gables:  Toronto, ON; The Short Bus:  Bite TV; The Heidi Chronicles:  Toronto, ON; Miss Canada Globe Pageant:  Toronto, ON; Steve Nash Charity Basketball Game:  Toronto, ON; Grease Ball 50's Concert:  Niagara Falls, ON; and 80's workout dancer:  Koodo Mobile Promotional Print Ad Campaign. 
Courtney is a highly sought after choreographer and instructor who thrives on making new connections through developing technique and creating pieces on all ages from mini to senior.  Her choreography has received top accolades including overall titles, top scores, and choreography awards at both the regional and national competitive level for her unique style and creativity. Courtney is proud to have most recently received her 140th choreography award during the 2024 season. Courtney's work has been featured in Dance Teacher Magazine and many of her students have gone on to professional careers in the industry including television (Lost & Found; The Next Step), cruise lines (Norwegian; Caribbean), dance companies (The Radio City Rockettes Summer Intensive; Joffrey School of Ballet; Conteur), dance packs (Toronto Rock Cheerleaders; Raptors Dance Pak), and dance education (Ryerson; George Brown; Randolph; York).
​Courtney is honoured to share her knowledge and passion for dance with the next generation as a devoted teacher, choreographer, and adjudicator.  Courtney prides herself on continuing to develop her craft through workshops, seminars, and classes to push both her dancers and herself as an artist.

Ms Kelly Jones-Hart
Ballet/Lyrical

Kelly has a passion for teaching dance to children of all ages and abilities.  With a focus on developing strong technique Kelly also infuses her classes with joy and creativity.  Students are encouraged to find an emotional connection with movement and to develop a love for dance as a form of self-expression.
Kelly began dancing at the age of three studying and competing in tap, jazz, ballet, Highland and contemporary dance.  While studying dance at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) Kelly earned her Ballet teaching certification from the Royal Academy of Dance, an International training institution based in London.  After graduating from the dance programme Kelly performed at the Royal Alexandra and Princess of Wales theatres in Toronto.  She joined the Scottish Dance Company of Canada and performed across Ontario and in front of Edinburgh Castle, Scotland.  In 2005 Kelly completed her Masters Degree in Dance at York University and presented her research paper, Applying Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences in Ballet Training at the World Dance Alliance conference in Toronto.  Kelly’s students have been accepted to National Ballet,  Royal Winnepeg Ballet and Quinte Ballet schools, and many former students have become certified dance teachers.

Miss Emily Butosi
Instructor

Miss Emily is thrilled to be part of the Chrome Dance Centre faculty! A passionate and dedicated dancer, Emily trained competitively for over 10 years under the guidance of Miss Laurie, Miss Sarah, and the Chrome faculty. Throughout her competitive years, she earned multiple scholarships, won several titles, and served as a trusted leader and role model within her team.
A graduate of the All Saints Arts & Media Program, Emily studied dance intensively from grades 7 through 12. During her time there, she choreographed pieces for both peers and school productions, and proudly served as Dance Captain for her school musical. Emily currently holds a place on TMU's award winning competitive dance team where her and her team have won numerous awards - including Highest Scoring Team overall. She continues to study dance through her school team, and by taking class from some of Canada's best teachers at drop-ins and workshops in the Toronto-area.
In addition to her dance experience, Emily also has a background in modelling, including appearances in Toronto Kids Fashion Week, where she walked the runway for two clothing brands in 2018.
Emily’s love of performance has taken her beyond the studio and onto international stages. As a proud member of the Five Star Dance Company, she traveled to Mexico to perform at the Barcelo Maya Riviera Resort. Most recently, she stepped into the role of Connie in WCT's A Chorus Line, where she shows off her dance, acting and vocal skills. She has also completed various levels of the BATD syllabus, holding her Elementary standings in both Modern and Tap, and has received top marks and multiple scholarship nominations in her exam work.
Miss Emily brings energy, creativity, and a genuine passion for teaching to every class. She can’t wait to inspire the next generation of dancers at ChromeDC!

Miss Teanna W.
Instructor

Teanna Weir is excited to return to Chrome Dance Centre—this time as a member of the faculty. After spending 7 years training and competing at Chrome, she is thrilled to give back to the studio that shaped her into the dancer and performer she is today. Teanna trained and competed at an advanced level for over 11 years and is now pursuing a degree in Creative Industries at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she continues to blend her passion for the arts with her professional pursuits.
​Teanna has been a professional film and television actor for the past 5 years and is a proud member of ACTRA. Her screen credits include principal, reacting, and dancing roles in CRAVE TV's Shoresy. Most recently, she stepped into the role of Lori in WCT's production of A Chorus Line. Teanna is passionate about inspiring young dancers to explore their individuality, creativity, and performance quality both in and out of the studio.
